Privacy Policy

Last updated August 30, 2026

This policy explains what personal data Claim The Market collects when you browse markets, create a business listing, bid on a #1 Featured Business position, or contact us — and what control you have over that data.

1. Who we are

Claim The Market operates claimthemarket.com, a paid-placement marketplace where one business holds the #1 Featured Business position for a city and business category. For privacy questions, contact cyberprosoftware@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: email address, authentication identifiers, and — if you sign in with Google — the name, email and avatar that provider returns.
  • Listing data: business name, description, website, city, category, logo and gallery images, and contact details you enter. Listing content is published publicly by design.
  • Bid and payment data: bid amounts, markets, timestamps, and payment records. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor and never stored on our servers.
  • Usage data: impressions and clicks on featured listings, page requests, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, and error diagnostics.
  • Communications: emails you send us and our replies.

3. Why we use it

  • To run your account, listing and bids (performance of a contract).
  • To process payments and prevent fraud, chargebacks and abuse (legal obligation and legitimate interest).
  • To report impressions, clicks and placement performance in your dashboard.
  • To send transactional notifications: bid confirmations, outbid alerts, receipts and account emails.
  • To improve the marketplace and secure the platform.

4. Processors we share data with

We use a small set of vendors as processors under contract: a managed database, auth and storage backend; a payment processor for checkout and receipts; an email delivery provider for transactional messages; and hosting and CDN infrastructure. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Public information

Business listings, current #1 holders, bid amounts, bid counts and market ownership history are published to keep the marketplace transparent. Do not put anything in a listing that you do not want to be publicly indexed by search engines and AI assistants. Personal contact details such as phone numbers are not exposed publicly by our APIs.

6. Retention

Account, listing, bid and payment records are kept while your account is active and afterwards as required for tax, accounting and dispute purposes (typically seven years). Aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely in a form that no longer identifies you.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction of processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interest. California residents may request disclosure of categories collected and opt out of any sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal data as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise a right, email cyberprosoftware@gmail.com from your account address; we respond within 30 days and never charge or penalise you for asking.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to production data is restricted, and database row-level security limits every request to the records the requester is entitled to see. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

9. International transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you access the service from outside the U.S., your data is transferred there under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Children

The service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes

We update this policy when the product or the law changes and revise the date above. Material changes are announced by email to account holders.
